Thomas Krumel

Thomas is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Agribusiness and Applied Economics Department. His research focuses on rural economic development, delving into the impact of labor markets and industries within these communities, specifically on agricultural economics. Much of his early career research centers on investigating the community development implications of the meatpacking industry. His professional background includes an initial postgraduate position with the USDA, where he earned the Research, Education, and Economics Under Secretary Award for contributions to the COVID-19 Rapid Response Team.
